Four Star Quality Charter Standard (Four*Standard, 4*Standard or FSQCS)

From the client’s point of view, it is the 4*Standard that is the first to offer a standard with the help of which values in the charter business can be measured and comparisons made among charter companies or different services within a particular charter company. Charter company vessels can be assessed (technical status and the level of equipment), its booking services, modes of payment, the organisation of check-in and check-out in the base, the legal and financial security, as well as added values.

It can be readily observed that the 4*Standard is orientated towards fulfilling the expectations of charter guests so that a personalised marketing approach is prescribed (a guest is followed by his or her first and second name):

Those who would like to learn more about the functioning of the standard can find more in the continuation…

The Four Star Quality Charter Standard is intended for the quality of charter business management and has been developed within the Yacht-Pool from ISO 9001. Expert knowledge from the field of charter business has been implemented into it. The necessary administration has been reduced to such a measure that the guest service process as well as the vessel maintenance process can be managed in a prescribed way, while the business quality can be developed. Thus, this standard is at a somewhat higher level than the ISO 9001 norm regarding knowledge, while it is at a somewhat lower level when it comes to administration.

Besides the benefit for charter guests (charter guests’ benefit) and the invaluable help to directors in the charter business management (charter companies’ benefit), the 4*Standard provides benefit to all those in the chain, such as agencies (charter agencies’ benefit), vessel owners (vessel owners’ benefit), financiers (financiers’ benefit), vessel dealers, vessel repair companies, etc.

The framework of the standard consists of the Four Star Code which prescribes the conduct of all the participants in charter and the normative part which regulates the main process (contracting, check-in and check-out of guests) and technical processes (vessel maintenance).

The tools with the help of which the 4*Standard is implemented are the descriptions of tasks, rules, procedures and work instructions, as well as NauSYS – the IT application constructed on Internet technologies.

The most important 4*Standard feature is that acting in accordance with it:
• Business management becomes a routine;
• All relations in a charter – starting from the guest and agency to the company, bank and the Tax Office are transparent, while
• The calculation of all the relations results in a fair price for all.

Formally speaking, the 4*Standard consists of the norm, certificate and brand (4-Star), while the distribution of the standard is managed by the Alfa Polaris d.o.o. company from Poreč.
